Have you packaged up your creativity in a neat little box and set it on the the shelf labeled, “When I have more time”? Have you put all your daily life ahead of what you love? I think moms especially tend to do this. Lets face it, we don’t have time. Whether you send your kids off to school and spend part or all of your day at work, or if you homeschool your kids like I do, by the time you reach the end of the day, you are DONE!
I will admit it is a little easier getting “creative time” now that my kids are older and take on more of the responsibility of household chores, but I still cannot get that time unless I stay up late or get up early (or a little of both in my case).
I challenge you to find some moments in your day to work on your own projects or ideas. For me, it is taking work in the car while I am waiting at classes or lessons. It isn’t always practical to work on something in the car but you can at least be journaling, drawing, or reading some inspiration to get you started.
Maybe it is time to take that creative box off the shelf and dust it off a bit. Whether you like to draw, sing, write, dance, or make objects (craft), maybe it is time to get back to it. Even if it is carrying a little sketchbook in your bag or a journal to take notes in as you think of ideas, do something today to get those creative juices flowing. Write down ideas, sketch while your kids are watching their favorite show. Who knows, maybe you will wake up their creative gifts too.
