I will be asking that question a lot on this blog. I want my readers to stretch those creative muscles a little every day. It doesn’t have to be in a big way, in fact it can be as simple as sketching while you talk on the phone.
My house was quit creative yesterday. We actually stayed home all afternoon. School was finished up first then everyone scattered to do their own thing. I had one on the computer typing up a story for her magazine (a fun school project that she is enjoying), one was dancing, and one was on my iPad writing a “story”. The one on the iPad was my eight year old and it was more about the typewriter sound. She loved listening to it. I have not gone back to see what she wrote but at one point she was just putting the letters in order and listening to the “ding” at the end of the line.
My favorite part of the afternoon was when I was listening to some bluegrass on Pandora and the girls started dancing to the music. Wish I could have gotten a video. It was interesting seeing girls dance ballet moves with bluegrass. There was lots of giggling and fun. Not every afternoon is like that at my house but I sure love it when it is!
You might ask what I was doing while all this was going on. I was busy making some bracelets. They are not super creative bracelets but they are important ones. I have taken on a job of trying to encourage a friend that is starting up round two of chemotherapy. The first round was a year ago. It is so hard to sit back and watch a family struggle so much, without doing “something”. I am in the midst of making several bracelets to remind people to pray for her. The bracelets I made last year are all worn out and I want to give a new bracelet to those prayer warriors. A visual reminder that there is hope.
