There has been a little bit of “blog neglect” going on around here, because I have been working so hard on making my Etsy shop look fresher, cleaner, and have better SEO (Don’t worry if you don’t know what SEO is, I have just started to figured it out!). I have been super busy the past few weeks. This started off small and quickly became my summer project. I thought my summer project was cleaning the garage (sorry honey, it got postponed again), or organizing all the school work from last year, and getting ready for next year (YIKES – better get on that!), or just relaxing with my kids at the beach. Not to be!!
Evidently, I am really, really bad at time management, or maybe things just take longer when kids are needing to run various places, or are busy talking to me while I work. I don’t think my time management skills are THAT bad, but it really has taken all summer for this project.
SO PLEASE – go check it out. There is a new banner, improved photos, and better titles and tags. There are still a few items to change, and I can’t forget the 159 items still in my “expired” folder. Most of those will go in the sale category over the next few days (or maybe weeks), to make space for some new items. I will also be remaking some old favorites that I have neglected to renew. My Facebook page also got a little bit of an update. If you don’t already follow me there, please stop by and “like” me.
Speaking of new…. I just got a huge spool of new titanium wire. My supplier did not carry the gauge I wanted, so he had the manufacturer make it for me. In order to do that, I of course had to order a lot of wire! I took a risk, and spent quit a bit of money, but it is going to be worth it! I know this, because every single customer that has tried my titanium earrings so far, has loved them! The only complaint I have heard has been about the size of the wire I was using. This normally would not be an issue, but the thick wire was a little to hard on tender ears and the thinner wire that was readily available to me, was just to thin for good ear wires. Now that the problem is solved, and I can get back to work on more designs. The hoop earrings will still be made with 20 gauge but all other earrings will be made with 21 gauge. Problem solved!!
If you would like to read an unbiased opinion about the titanium earrings, check out Bethany’s blog. She recently ordered some titanium earrings for her daughter and blogged about it today. I love Bethany’s blog. She has all kinds of great recipes, creative ways to save money, parenting insight, etc. In fact I don’t think there is much she has not written about over the years. Even if you don’t want to read about her experience with my titanium earrings, you should check out her blog.
P.S. I have a visiting blogger! I am so excited to share her artwork with you. She is a young artist from the Seattle area. She grew up in my hometown, but she was born after I had left the area. I have recently seen her work and heard her story. I will be sharing it here very soon!!
